I'm sure that many of you have seen at least one of the many X-Men movies and you understand the premise. The latest movie deals with the idea that scientists were able to create a cure for mutation and the conflict that surrounds the cure. That being said, if scientists were able to isolate a pedophile gene and create a cure, would you take it? Take the poll.

Interesting question :) Would I take the blue pill? I think I prefer to stay myself.
Thereby I don't think it's just one gene and I don't believe mankind is ready yet for tinkering with its own sourcecode. They just might get something quite different.

I shall quote that very movie that you are talking about.

As a paedophile, I am offended by even the suggestion of a "cure" for existing.
I voted no because I think my attraction equips me to be able to, and have the desire to, help boys with serious emotional and behavioural problems, such as my current young friend who was incorrectly diagnosed as ADD when in actuality he was exhibiting classic ACS (Abused Child Syndrome) behaviour patterns.
This boy at age 11 when I first met him 15 months ago, could not read at grade 1 level. The first night he stayed in my home with (several other boys) he wanted to go to a particular website the address for which contained the word "cat" and he spelt it "kat". He was forever being suspended from school for fighting and other unruly and disruptive behaviour. Within 3 months I had him off the ADD meds and getting commemdations from the Principal for his exemplary behaviour, and now reads at grade 5/6 level and should be caught up completely by the end of this calendar year. All he needs is love, and he got it nowhere else.
Why would I want to change that?
